Ian is at the controls – and Mother Nature is pleased to present: The Columbia Icefield along highway 93 between Banff and Jasper. Breathtaking … not a cloud in the sky. On the left of the icefield is Mt. Andromeda, and the peak above the wing is Mt. Athabasca.
DID YOU KNOW? The Athabasca River and the North Saskatchewan River come from the Columbia Icefield. I know absolutely nuthin ’bout flying planes … but I do know a little about weather. It is vital that every pilot knows current and forecasted wind speed, direction, and any systems coming in as he/she makes a flight plan. And when flying around mountains ridges and canyons – they must expect the wind to constantly change speed “and” direction. So yikes -be careful up there…but thanks for the great picture!
WHETHER YOU GO TO THE HIGHEST OF HEIGHTS TO CAPTURE THAT FRESH AIR PHOTO … OR STICK YOUR HEAD OUT THE BACK DOOR AND SHOOT … UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO OF MOTHER NATURE ‘OR’ HER CREATURES …. TODAY!
