Fresh Air Photo Tuesday, June 12th

Can I sit here?

Can I sit here?

You could also give Keven’s photo the title:  “Serenity”.    This is a photo that for me - conjures up the aroma of a recent rain.    And if I thought about it long enough, I could probably even imagine a chorus of bullfrogs.

DID YOU KNOW?    This may not be the largest wetland in our province, but is vital for the survival of many birds, animals, insects, reptiles -  not to  mention the reeds and the trees.    This is near Fork Lake which is in Lac La Biche County about  an hour west of Cold Lake.    As you can see it flourishes when ‘watered’.    A study for the Alberta Government looked into “Environmentally Significant Areas” in our province.    Major concerns included:  clearing and fragmentation of natural habitats.    You may not realize it, but within a few hours drive from the hustle and bustle of Edmonton there are areas of national significance!    Some of these spaces provide breeding and nesting for lots and lots of shorebirds, waterfowl, as well as precious habitats for endangered species and for rare plant and animal species.    Reasons to be proud and to be protective!

WE PROMISE NOT TO GIVE DIRECTIONS TO YOUR SECRET HIDEAWAY, AND ALL WE ASK IN RETURN, IS FOR YOU TO SHARE YOUR MILLION DOLLAR VIEW.    UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO TODAY, SEE IT ON BT AND THIS BLOG TOMORROW!
