Nw Zealand fjord
Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know. If you are over the age of 30 you might get the song reference,…if you do not – see the link below. Alice was in New Zealand just last month and shows us the Doubtful Sound in Fiordland National Park. So much to admire about this shot. Some people may write the pic off as just a stormy day – but there is so much going on. I see the wake behind the boat – the rain falling in the distance, the dark clouds fighting the urge to break up, and the tiniest sliver of sunlight on the water. Thanks Alice, now we all know.
DID YOU KNOW? This fiord is home to one of the southernmost population of bottlenose dolphins. Doubtful Sound was named ‘Doubtful Harbour’ in 1770 by Captain Cook. He did not enter the inlet because he wasn’t sure he could sail it. It was later renamed Doubtful Sound by whalers and sealers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_Ask_Alice
