Honk if you can see us!

Lauri  and her husband Terry are early risers (maybe the honking wakes them up).    They live north of Edmonton city limits and because of the low lying areas on their land – fog is quite common.    “We go out to visit the horses each morning before work, and for the last three years in the spring, have had two geese that hang out in the hayfield - this year we have 4.   Terry always keeps a camera on him and we’ve been fortunate to see so much wildlife out here”.

DID YOU KNOW?   Fog is cloud that has formed on the ground.    There are 4 main types of fog:  radiation fog, advection fog, upslope fog, and evaporation fog.    It looks like Lauri and Terry are experiencing Radiation Fog.    Overnight, the ground cools.    The air above the ground also cools.    This can bring the air down below its dew point, causing water vapor to condense around the dust and other particulates in the atmosphere, creating fog.
