Shedding his winter coatFabulous Fox face
An incredible experience for Chris when visiting Jasper National Park: ”While up by Medicine Lake, we were simply sitting on a rock enjoying the sights when this fox appeared! He walked right past us and then placed his paw on the rock - poised and ready to jump while looking for food”!

Fabulous Fox face
DID YOU KNOW? The red fox is small and agile – important for its survival. They are nocturnal, but it’s not unusual to see them during the day. They have exceptional sight, smell and hearing. In fact, the red fox is able to hear low-frequency sounds which help them hunt small animals, even when they’re underground in their dens! As we can see the red fox is known for its long bushy tail and lustrous rusty or orange-red fur. Its muzzle is dark, the ears and paws are black. The male fox is called a dog and is usually slightly larger than the female vixen.

Fox are one of my favorite analims. I’ve lived in the woods and had poultry since 1997. We have fox nearby on a regular basis. They respect our farm dogs’ territory. Not once has a fox ever been in the hen house or otherwise given us cause for concern. ~Robin
