Dam cute!

Dam cute!

Sure we have our Mounties and our Maple Leaf — but there’s something about the BEAVER that sums up:  “I am Canadian!”   To Saskatchewan we go for this picture of our National Symbol!    Wendy spotted Mr. Beaver at a natural area by Rhona Lake, Saskatchewan…..about 130k north east of Saskatoon.   Wendy watched and waited  for the beaver to come to where she was sitting and Voila ~~~ perfect shot!

DID YOU KNOW?    A Beaver tail is utterly fantastic!   (Yes, we’re talking about the appendage as well as that sweet Canadian pastry!)    First of all:  the tail acts as a rudder while they are swimming, THEN - as a prop when standing upright, as a lever when dragging tree logs, and the coolest ever:  a slap on the water warns others there is danger!    And don’t forget how incredibly sharp beavers’ teeth are!

No other animal has influenced Canada’s history as much as the beaver.    When Europeans began to settle in northern North America, beaver pelts were the prize that lured
them farther and farther into the wilderness.

Don’t leave it to Beaver  ….  Send in your Fresh Air Photo(s) today!!!    As soon as you upload your photo, it goes on the air, and as a bonus — -right here on my blog.
