Tree Swallow
The cute factor is on high here, as this four-feathered friend peeks out to see who’s there. The who is Murray: “This little adult tree swallow is used to the comings and goings in our yard. Their nestlings(babies) will be fledged (flying) in a day or two, then sadly all will be quiet unitl next spring.”
DID YOU KNOW? This nest box provides pretty swanky surrounding thanks to Murray. These songbirds have a good reputation for being nice neighbours with their chatty style and beautiful blue feathers. You notice a small bill, but because they are such incredible flyers, they can catch insects in flight. And fly they do – south for the winter, usually leaving here mid-August and returning mid-April.
