It’s fall… the most beautiful time of the year. If you feel like you need to shake up your ol’ wardrobe and some helpful hints from the ladies over on 124 Street, and your willing to have your dirty laundry aired….(literally and figuratively) we could be seeing a whole new YOU next month during our MAKE OVER MONDAY!
Stories ( and pics) can be submitted below. I’m going to go home this afternoon and look for some fashion disaster photo’s of myself to really kick it off! Go on…BE BRAVE!!

September 28th, 2009 at 6:05 amI JUST HAD A BIRTHDAY IN SEPTEMBER AND I REALLY FEEL OLD AND HAGGARD. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP ME!!! I HAVE NOT HAD A PROFESSIONAL COLOUR AND CUT SINCE WHO KNOWS WHEN. I WANT TO LOOK BETTER AND FEEL BETTER AND IF I LOOK GOOD I WILL FEEL WONDERFUL!!! THANX. I WOULD SEND A PICTURE IF YOU COULD TELL ME HOW I DO THAT!!!
September 28th, 2009 at 6:23 amI had my fifth baby a month ago, my oldest is seven. I turned 30 this year and am having my 9th wedding anniversary this November! I would like to look better than I do but really have no clue about hair styles or fashion and definitely don’t know how to dress my now mommyfied body! ( I don’t have the time to stay informed on those issues.) I would love a day (okay an hour) away for myself. I also think it would be great to show my girls that I can look good and that it’s important to take care of yourself! Hope you can help!
September 29th, 2009 at 9:14 amIf you only knew!!
I am turning 37 October 16th, I have 5 children ages 18 yrs, 16yrs, 15yrs, 13yrs AND 8 months! And to top it off my 18 yrs old had a baby 2 months after I did, so I am a GRANDMA!
I have dedicated my life and time to my kids, my EX husband and now my new husband of 2 yrs(been together for 9 years) I am tired, run down, out of the loop on fashion as I don’t buy myself anything, not even fashion magazines.
My hair is a mess, I am looking old and feeling old these days.
I have been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so everyday life is a struggle as it is with pain and being tired. I need a lift in spirits!
I think it is time for ME! I just need a little help..kick in the butt!
I don’t ask for much, but I am begging you to help me
P.S Bridget…Shop the block episode on Monday September 28th…all the pregnant ladies..UPS man…My husband USED to deliver to them, that was the joke between them..he was leaving that route before rumours started. I see they have. Made for a good laugh that morning LOL. Great ladies!
September 29th, 2009 at 3:01 pmThe first thing I thought of when I heard about this makeover was my mom, Janet. My mom will be 55 in January. She has 5 kids, 35, 34, 29 and 25 year old twins, as well as 6 grandkids. She works hard at her 2 jobs, which she goes to one right after the other. She NEVER has any time for herself but she always manages to find time when someone needs her. She always goes over and above for everyone but herself. I don’t know the last time she got a haircut, if she ever has in my 29 years of existence, or got her hair done. She has very long, naturally curly, red hair. I think this makeover would transform more than my mom’s physical appearance, I believe that it would transform her inside as well and I would LOVE to see that sparkle in her again.
September 30th, 2009 at 2:13 pmHello,
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:17 amI am nominating my boyfriend for a makeover! We have been dating for 3 years and I love him the way he is, but mostly because of who he is on the inside. He is kind, caring, attentive and generous. He is a great friend. He is one of those rare good guys out there and I am fortunate enough to be with him. He always gives to everyone but himself. He just seems to put the needs of others before himself, even when I tell him he needs to take care of himself. Due to the economic slump, he has run into some hard times. He is a working man at a man’s job so mainly only owns torn or grubby clothing. He needs a good haircut, but more than that he needs help to invest in himself. I would go so far as to say he doesn’t go out as much as he could to be with friends because he has nothing to wear and not the means to get it due to the layoffs at the start of summer. He, more than anyone, needs a makeover to lift his spirit and to make him feel as special as he makes me and everyone else around him feel. He is 26 and needs help to find the confidence in himself to accomplish his goals and turn over a new leaf, I believe he needs a makeover! He cleans up so nicely!
I am nominating my daughter Lindsay, she could truly use a pick me up. She is 25 years old and a leukemia survivor. She was diagnosed in February of 2005, she received chemo and was in remission until November 2005. During this round of chemo something terribly went wrong, she had a brain hemmorhage and was to have surgery. The doctor that was going to operate on her said she had a 5% change to come out of surgery alive and that she did. Her next big hurdle was a bone marrow transplant which she had in March of 2006. Thanks to an amazing man in Connecticut. So due to all the treatment she has gone thru her self-esteem has taken a kicking. She used to have lovely thick hair and it is now thin and on the spot where they removed the bone it is very thin. So I think having a make over will definately boost her spirits. Thanks for your consideration.

Dear Brigette I I truely believe I need a makeover badly!!!! I have had alot of exteme stress in my life that has aged me way beyond my years. I am only 46 ,I am a new Grandma for the first time and loving it. When my older sister and I are together people think that I am older than she is !!! THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THAT!!!!!!!!! I believe that a nasty Divorce, and child custody battle for my 3 children has taken more out of this body than I care to imagin. I believe that havin M.S. doesn’t help matters either. I took a professional modeling shoot photo when I was 23 and and I looked and felt beautiful! I would give anything to feel that way again!!!!!!! Thanks for your time and consideration Brigette.
October 7th, 2009 at 7:42 amHi Bridget…I’m your biggest fan and I met you at the Sobeys at Southbrook one morning and I told you how much you lifted my life and others with your undying energy and humor. On that particular morning I was so embarrassed to meet you of all people early in the morning because I had gone out without doing my make up and I’m still mortified about it….I was half asleep, unmade up and in “why did I get up so early?” when I looked up from my coffee to see who else but my favorite T.V. star standing in Sobey’s looking at me! It was a big surprise!
however, I really am Madonna’s age and I am single and have gone out on the town to get into the groove of the single scene again and am finding that I get hustled by 21 to 30 year olds….believe it or not! it shocks me too….I’m even overweight at that…I find this situation extremely uncomfortable especially when they start focusing in on my face and they start getting the feedback from my “lines” that I am old enough to be their grandmother that they have a look or horror and confusion…I think I need the facial to match the face with my youthful image I apparently give off at 190 pounds roughly … give or take a few pounds….what do ya think Bridget????? You must have noticed how bad I needed this facial Bridget…..or at least eyeliner!!!!
October 7th, 2009 at 7:45 amWhy do I need a makeover? I used to be a well put-together professional – heels and hosiery every day. I actually used to DO my hair and makeup every morning. Then I had kids and decided to stay home to take care of them until they were both in school (they’re 2 and 5, so I’m getting there). I honestly don’t know when I last had a haircut. I think it MAY have been in the past 12 months. My bangs were bugging me the other day, so I cut them myself (with nail scissors…) – It didn’t turn out well. My husband laughed. I only buy myself clothing that is on the clearance rack – I pretty much only buy something if it’s about 75%off. My husband buys more stuff for me than I buy for myself. I feel guilty spending any money on myself anymore (since my work as a domestic engineer is voluntary), so the only way I’m going to get pampered these days is if someone feels pity for me. I’d love to be chosen to be spoiled for a day. Have a great one. You guys are great.
October 7th, 2009 at 7:50 amGood Morning Bridget! I am in need of some pampering!!! I just had a baby, my first, and had NO idea what I was getting myself into! It would be nice to have a few hours of me time while my hubby watches the little one. I feel like a sack of poop! I used to get all done up every day and now my goal is to shower everyday…and well that doesn’t get accomplished!!
October 7th, 2009 at 8:00 amI’d be thrilled if I got picked for a day of being spoiled- but if not good luck to all the others- their all sound like they deserve it too!!
Nicole
Bridget, I have been sick at home for 2 weeks and on Sunday morning my mother passed away. I sure could use some tender loving care. Thanks. Donna
October 7th, 2009 at 8:00 amThis January I will be 50!!!!!!!. I decided to walk in to my 50 in style!!!. I lost weight. I fill and look good _I think-, but my face need some job to be done. Please help me to look fantastick.. Elizabeth.
October 7th, 2009 at 8:02 amBridget,
I am getting close to 40—okay I am 39 in November, work as a district manager and would love to jazz myself up. I am feeling a little drab and would love to spice up and feel fantastic again. It has been a long time. I have recently lost 32 pounds and have not been able to change my wardrobe alot. it is really expensive and I would love to have a fabulous business look.
Have a fabulous day
Thanks Jane
October 7th, 2009 at 8:03 amHi , I am 61 years old and still trying to grow my hair which grow in curlier than ever since my last chemo treatments. I am struggling to get a style that would work for my hair while it grows out. I normally have very dry skin and over the summer it took a beating while I worked with my husband landscaping our yard. My wardrobe is next to nothing and since my operation for ovarian cancer I have no waist. I have the hardest time shopping for outfits that fit and feel good. I prefer to wear no bra with sweats. In the last 6 weeks we had 3 funerals to attend and I struggled with my clothing. I have a couple of black pants that are two tight around the waist but suffer with them when I have to dress up. I would be thrilled if you picked me. Have a wonderful day
October 7th, 2009 at 8:10 amHi B!! You know why I need one……. think I would present much better if I did not display fatigue on the face…
