Can you see HER?

See her?

SHE sees YOU!

SHE sees YOU!

A warm afternoon on the banks of the Beaver River just east of Fork Lake.    Keven notices movement in the tall grass and sees a deer.    He stops.    The deer stops.    ”The deer and I had a nice staring contest which I took advantage of by raising my camera — hope you enjoy!”    I think I can speak for everyone when I say — we certainly do.

DID YOU KNOW?    The Beaver River is 491 kilametres long and fed by many lakes including:  Beaver Lake, Lac La Biche, Cold Lake, and Primrose Lake.    It flows into Saskatchewan, turns north and hooks up to a lake in the Churchill Lake system.    Eventually its waters are carried to the Hudson Bay by the Churchill River!

THIS CREATURE IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY MOTHER NATURE.    NOW IT’S UP TO YOU TO - ”BRING IT!”    ON OUR MAIN WEBPAGE LOOK FOR ‘CONNECT WITH BT’.    UPLOAD YOUR MASTERPIECE TODAY – SEE IT ON BT TOMORROW!!!!

Lindsay's latest mug shot.

Lindsay's latest mug shot.

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly having a tough time trapped in a 12 x 8 cell (can’t blame her). Her on-again lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, was the first to pay her a visit.

She says Lindsay is “trying to make the necessary adjustments to an an extremely stressful and difficult situation. There were some tears. Generally, the first two days in jail are the most difficult.”

The actress was ordered to serve 90 days in jail for missing alcohol counselling session in violation of her probation. Word on the street: if she’s on her best behaviour, she’ll spend 14 days behind bars thanks to overcrowding.

A baby’s on the way for Ali Larter. The Hollywood actress (Legally Blonde, Varsity Blues) and her writer/actor husband Hayes MacArthur are expecting their first child this winter. The pair were married in Maine last August.

Slash 07 20

Two concert announcements! And they couldn’t be further apart on the musical genre scale. No seriously.

He’s often referenced as one of the best living guitarists and now Slash’s “We’re All Gonna Die Tour” is coming to the Edmonton Expo Centre.

To boot, he recently landed on the top of the charts with his first true solo album, SLASH, which debuted as #1 Rock Album and #3 overall on Billboard’s coveted Top 200 charts.

Snag tickets for the September 28th show through www.ticketmaster.ca Friday, July 23 at 10 AM.

Check out www.slashonline.com for more on the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist.

Reba 07 20

On the flip side, Reba will perform hits from her 31st album (crazy, I know!) and old favourites at Rexall Place Friday, October 29th.

For tickets, hit up www.ticketmaster.ca Saturday, July 24th at 10 AM.

Just a few notes... you can breathe a sigh of relief today. The cast of  “Jersey Shore” will begin filming the third season this weekend. Phewf.

Must mean the cast got at least close to what they wanted: $30,000 per episode.

Chris Isaak, Henry Connick Jr., and Donald Trump- all rumoured to be Simon Cowell's replacement.

Chris Isaak, Harry Connick Jr., and Donald Trump- all rumoured to be Simon Cowell's replacement.

“American Idol” judges are just a few weeks away from starting Season 10 auditions. So, the question of the hour: who will replace Simon Cowell. No one seems to know. Rumour has it actor/singer Harry Connick Jr., musician Chris Isaak, and Donald Trump (?!) are the front runners. You’ll note there’s no mention of Bret Michaels. Thank goodness.

Beaver Lake in balance

Beaver Lake in balance

Wow.    Thanks to Bernd, I now have a new ”happy place” in Lakeland County.    Welcome to Beaver Lake.    Bernd shares what he saw at about 5 in the afternoon in the middle of June.    His quote:  “It was a beautiful sunny day, 26c.    I love to go camping at northern Alberta lakes”.    Ditto!

DID YOU KNOW?    You too can camp at Beaver Lake.    In fact there are  140 campsites, docks, boat launches, and a day-use area with a picnic shelter, tables and fireplaces.    And a personal favorite activity of mine:  jigging off the dock using leeches and a weighted jig head  — maybe even a knuckle ball.

All’s Fair in Love and Reality TV

frank

Let me get this straight. Frank’s a bad guy because he realized his heart didn’t belong to Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky, but instead to his former flame Nicole? He’s a horrible dude because he admitted following his heart didn’t include spending eternity with the reality TV “girlfriend” he’s been sharing with 25, then 15, then 12, then… (you get the point, I’m sure) other guys?

If you gauge public opinion based on blogs, Facebook and Twitter, Frank might very well be the most hated man in America today. I mean, he packed his bags and took off, leaving Ali with just two sets of shoulders left to cry on. How cold is that?

For the record, I think Frank made the right move. I’m surprised more contestants on Citytv’s wildly-popular Bachelor/ette franchise don’t admit to the same thing. Is it really realistic that every single person falls head over heels every single time? Let’s not forget Ali made no bones about ditching then-Bachelor Jake Pavelka to “pursue her career.” We’ll never know if that’s the real reason for her departure. Something tells me her internal crystal ball may have seen a side of Jake not presented to the public by the show’s editors. That, or the show’s producers dangled an opportunity to be the next Bachelorette and she jumped.

Either way, it’s now down to two: the soft-hearted, soft-spoken Chris L (who really needs to find something besides his mother to talk about) and hunky former baseball star Roberto (the favourite to be last man standing).

Next week marks what very well could be the best episode of the bunch – the “men tell all” feaure. Then it’s up to Ali to choose her man in the big Bachelorette finale. Check out the video below for our BT Bachelorette panel’s take on Monday night’s episode and details on how you can win your way in to our exclusive BT Bachelorette finale party at Milestone’s!

Lindsay Lohan staring off into space... what could she possibly be thinking?

Lindsay Lohan staring off into space... what could she possibly be thinking?

It’s the day all the paparazzi have been waiting for: Lindsay Lohan turns herself over to spend 90 days behind bars.

She, her mom, and— who’s that— her ex-attorney Shawn Chapman Holley showing up late to the L.A. courthouse.

I was talking about her lawyer drama on BT this morning. Word on the street is her lawyer Robert Shapiro dropped her like a ton of bricks less than 24 hours before she was to head to jail.  It gets better. Since her ex-lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley reportedly never signed a substitution of attorney form to get out of the case, she’s front and centre vouching for Lindsay. Ah, the drama.

Jersey Shore BLOG 07 20

No shortage of drama with the guidos and guidettes of Jersey Shore. They’re reportedly threatening to go on strike. Why you ask? Well apparently they’re underpaid and underappreciated. They’re asking for $30,000 each per episode which is a steep climb considering they made $5,000 per the first season and $10,000 the second.

Remember that Barenaked Ladies' music video they shot? Ali just slapped Frank following this photo... a fitting photo wouldn't you say?

Remember that Barenaked Ladies' music video they shot? Ali just slapped Frank following this photo... fitting wouldn't you say?

Sticking with TV, drama for our Bachelorette continues. This time around, Frank decides he’s still in love with his ex in Chicago. A plane ride later, he’s breaking up with Ali in Tahiti. Way to string her along, Frank. Roberto and Chris L are left waiting in the wings (after steamy overnight dates), but they’re both fabulous choices if you ask me. Two more weeks until we find out who will receive the last rose!

More entertainment- including Lindsay Lohan court drama- tomorrow morning in entertainment at 6:55 and 8:10 on Breakfast Television.

Til next time!

Butterfly Effect

Butterfly Effect

Shyla went on a road trip to the Calgary Zoo and spent some serenity time in the Butterfly Garden.    And like any responsible Fresh Air Photographer – took her camera along for the ride!    This beautiful creature is native to South East Asia.    She is a She,…and is a Great Eggfly ALSO CALLED a Blue Moon.    I confirmed her identity on this website.    If you are curious – here is the link:  http://www.wingsofparadise.com/

DID YOU KNOW?    Butterflies taste with their feet!    Their taste sensors are located in the feet, and by standing on their food, they can taste it.    All butterflies have six legs and feet.    And don’t get me started on their wings!    Butterfly and Moth wings are transparent.    The scales are iridescent and they overlap like shingles on a roof.    That gives the wings the colors that we see.

COME OUT OF YOUR COCOON!    WE OF THE FRESH AIR PHOTO NATION NEED YOU.    UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO TODAY – SEE IT ON BT (AND THIS HERE BLOG) TOMORROW!

Moment of Zen

Moment of Zen

Let’s visit Faye this weekend!    I am sure with a yard like this, she is used to having people stop by and stay and stay and stay ….    The rock garden is complimented by a few natural waterfalls and beautiful healthy trees.    This would be a perfect place for a “Staycation“.

DID YOU KNOW?    Some believe that limestone and sandstone are the best rocks to use.    Size is important too!    Use the “Goldilocks “Principle” as a rule of thumb,…sizes thare are j-u-s-t right.    Plus, experts tell us not to use concrete or bricks because these materials attract and make nice homes for slugs and snails.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION – USE YOUR OWN YARD – BUT FOR PETE’S SAKE (AND FOR OURS) – USE YOUR CAMERA.    MEMBERSHIP TO THE FRESH AIR PHOTO NATION IS FREE AND THE BENEFITS ARE ENDLESS.    UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO TODAY, SEE IT ON BT TOMORROW!
